of all renters are low-income households
Our nation faces a persistent housing shortage — affecting every state.
This crisis extends beyond our most vulnerable neighbors. Many essential workers — first responders, healthcare professionals, teachers, and social workers — can’t afford to live in the communities they serve.
At Bedford, we’re committed to changing that.

Creating and Preserving Affordable Housing for Our Communities
Our primary goal is to improve the health and prosperity of the communities we serve. Everything we do is guided by this mission, because when people have access to stable, affordable housing, neighborhoods can:
-
Draw and retain a diverse workforce.
-
Create economic security for families.
-
Fuel local business growth and community development.
-
Reduce social and municipal costs through greater stability.
-
Improve educational outcomes.
-
Foster the social and emotional well-being of future generations.
